The Glasgow Gift Card can be spent with over 140 businesses in the city, including Once Upon A Whisky Tours. Owner Camilo Gómez said:
“I set up Once Upon A Whisky Tours after travelling around Scotland, Europe, the USA, Asia and South America, researching the art of whisky. The Glasgow Walking Tour takes in four of the city’s best whisky venues, tasting a premium malt Scotch whisky in each bar. We avoid the mass produced whiskies and instead introduce guests to whiskies from small, unknown Scottish distilleries for a truly unique experience.
“As well as the tasting, the tours also include a storytelling experience, sharing curious facts and anecdotes about whisky, the kind of story you want to hear alongside a wee dram. People can learn about the technical side of making whisky on a distillery tour, the Once Upon A Whisky Tours are centred on the experience of drinking whisky, and the history. We also offer tasting kits, with 5 or 6 different whiskies presented in a box and we bring that storytelling element into it as well.
“We joined the Glasgow Gift Card because it’s a useful scheme to encourage people to spend locally, especially with hospitality. Bars and restaurants have been hugely affected by the pandemic, and the Glasgow Gift Card will help hospitality businesses to navigate these difficult times. We need to stay positive and support Scottish businesses as much as we can.
“When someone spends their Glasgow Gift Card with us, they can enjoy one of our whisky tours or one of our tasting kits. Scotland has some amazing local distilleries and whiskies, and our passion is helping our customers to discover them!”
